The Logan Pearsall Smith Papers consist primarily of Smith's correspondence, manuscripts, and research notes. Smith corresponded with notable scholars and socialites of his era. Correspondence in this collection is arranged in three series: Series 1 contains correspondence from Smith, Series 2 contains correspondence received by Smith, and Series 3 contains correspondence between other individuals, related to Smith or his estate. Series 4 contains manuscripts and notes composed by Smith, including draft essays, word lists, notes on other authors, and draft anthologies. For this series, each folder level record in the finding aid includes a description of the manuscript material. Finally, the collection includes one folder of newspaper clippings and one folder of business cards.

Acquired by Trinity University in 1982, the Ronald Hilton Collection was one of the largest private libraries on Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition to over 10,000 books (accessible via the library's catalog), the collection includes autographed letters from prominent Latin Americans, photographs of Cuba during the Spanish-American War, letters written to Hilton's shortwave radio program from listeners across the Western Hemisphere, and audiotapes of interviews with over 270 prominent figures in Latin American politics, academics, and culture.

Collection of correspondence and ephemera related to the history of a Texas family. The central figure in this collection is Mattie Strickland Russell; other correspondents in the collection include her husband, Richard Robertson Russell; her daughter, Elma Dill Spencer; her son-in-law, Richard French Spencer; her father, George Strickland; and her grandparents, Amos and Emily Strickland, among others. Additional correspondence to Mattie Russell is from children's author Will James. The collection also contains biographical information about her father, George Strickland. In addition, the collection contains ephemera related to Texas history.

Collection of fieldnotes compiled by Dr. Marion Oettinger while conducting anthropological fieldwork in Mexico, primarily in the 1970s. Oettinger's research focused on lienzos. A lienzo, from the Spanish word for "canvas," is a sheet of cloth painted with indigenous Mesoamerican pictorial writing. This collection includes fieldnotes on nine lienzos: the Lienzos of Chalchihuapan, Malinaltepec, Petlacala, San Gabriel Etla, San Juan Cuautla, Santiago Atitlan, Santo Domingo Barrio Alto, Xochiaca, and Xoxocatlan. The fieldnotes include photographs, slides, negatives, and transparencies; photocopies from printed works and government documents; typed and handwritten notes; manuscript drafts; maps; and correspondence.

Two letters related to author Katherine Anne Porter. The first is a copy of a 1965 letter from Porter to Dr. Louise Gossett, wife of Trinity University professor Dr. Thomas Gossett, regarding a meeting between the Gossetts, Porter, and Flannery O'Connor (the Gossetts introduced Porter and O'Connor in 1958). The second is a letter from a 1951 Trinity alumna, Marion Conditt, to President Brazil inquiring about memories she has of taking a summer course with Porter in the late 1940s. The archives staff has been unable to find any records supporting or refuting this claim.

1849 letter from Peck & Van Hooce law firm of Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Samuel A. Maverick, with a copy of Maverick's 1850 reply on the same paper. The letters concern the depositing of money from a business matter.
