Special Collections and Archives regularly receives individual manuscripts and small groupings of materials that have historical significance, but are not substantial enough to necessitate a full finding aid. For administrative and storage purposes, these materials have been grouped into an artificial collection, the Miscellaneous Manuscripts Collection.
This collection consists of materials covering a wide range of topics and format. The contents reflect the breadth of the holdings in Special Collections and Archives, with a particular emphasis on Texas history. Materials may be added to the collection on an ongoing basis. Subject headings have been assigned at the item level.
Trinity University Special Collections and ArchivesCollection of fieldnotes compiled by Dr. Marion Oettinger while conducting anthropological fieldwork in Mexico, primarily in the 1970s. Oettinger's research focused on lienzos. A lienzo, from the Spanish word for "canvas," is a sheet of cloth painted with indigenous Mesoamerican pictorial writing. This collection includes fieldnotes on nine lienzos: the Lienzos of Chalchihuapan, Malinaltepec, Petlacala, San Gabriel Etla, San Juan Cuautla, Santiago Atitlan, Santo Domingo Barrio Alto, Xochiaca, and Xoxocatlan. The fieldnotes include photographs, slides, negatives, and transparencies; photocopies from printed works and government documents; typed and handwritten notes; manuscript drafts; maps; and correspondence.
Oettinger, Marion, Jr., 1942-This collection consists of files on events held at Laurie Auditorium. Files include planning and promotion documentation. One box contains technical information on the operation of the auditorium.

Some materials in associations and organizations maybe addressed to M. Bruce Thomas, who was interim president before and after Wimpress.

This collection contains material from the former director of public relations, Leon “Tex” Taylor Taylor. The collection includes correspondence, biographical files, development department files, samples of print media, various articles about Trinity University, and assorted event files spanning Taylor’s tenure at Trinity University from 1947 to 1987.

Correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, reports and financial documentation make up the majority of this collection. Biographical files and photographs of former trustee members, and governance documents such as bylaws and charters complete the collection.

Gerontology Studies Graduate ProgramThis collection consists of material related to the investigation of Dr. Sherman M. Stanage conducted in the spring semester of 1968. Dr. Stanage was a professor of philosophy at Trinity University and was involved in both campus and city activities. When informed that his contract would not be renewed, he requested that the university investigate, claiming that his academic freedom was being violated. An investigation committee was formed consisting of Trinity professors Dr. Jess Carnes, Dr. Guy Ranson, and Dr. Donald Everett, and it is the documentation of this committee that composes this collection. Material is predominantly from the 1967-1968 academic year, however, some of the documents predate this time frame. Much of this documentation was used as evidence for the investigation. Material is correspondence and memoranda, news clippings, recollection of events, and reports of the investigation committee.
This collection consists of documentation from Trinity University's student government in its various iterations. The Student Association was formed in the fall of the 1964-1965 school year. Prior to that it was the Association of Students and other forms of student council and student senate. The Student Association changed its name to the Association of Student Representatives (ASR) in 1993-1994 school year as it merged with the Association of Resident Hall Students (ARHS). In 2006 the association again changed its named to the Student Government Association (SGA). Material prior to the 1964-1965 school year is included in this collection. This collection contains assortments of meeting minutes and general files which includes correspondence, operations and activities, and governing documents such as constitutions. It also maintains legislative files from the senate and council and judicial files from the judicial board and student court. Memorabilia and ephemera such as photos and flyers are included as well. Material for ARHS, ASR, and SGA is included in this collection.
This collection consists of operational office files of the Department of Healthcare Administration. Syllabi, preceptors conference files, and self-study reports for accreditation largely comprises this collection. Some of the program's alumni association files, faculty meeting minutes, advisory council files, an assortment of recruiting brochures, additional data and information about the program, photographs, and other mixed media complete the collection.
